THE ENGAGING CHURCH SEMINAR SESSIONS
The Engaging Church Seminar has an introduction followed by 6 sessions as presented below:
INTRODUCTION - 15 MINUTES
- Great Commission Conscience
SESSION 1 - 30 MINUTES
- What is an "Engaging Church"
In our intial session we look at an overview of the seminar, and examine some basic assumptions. We will look at what is an "Engaging Church", and how it relates to your church's purpose.
SESSION 2 - 30 MINUTES
- The Foundation for Outreach
Many churches today face an identity crisis ... the lack of a clear understanding as to why they exist. This issue of purpose, along with five other ingredients, defines your church's identity. And a clear identity is an essential building block for effective outreach.
SESSION 3 - 90 MINUTES
- Connecting with Newcomers
When long-time members recall the first contact with their church, it often involves one or several people who showed extraordinary caring and attention to them. Such special attention can be "intentialized" so that it does not just happen by accident, or is limited to the initiaves of a few extroverts in the church. This session provides some key insights on "how to."
SESSION 4 - 30 MINUTES
- Visitors: A Last Minute Check-up
Any good host will go to extra care in order to prepare for guests, and see that they are well accomodated. So it should be for us in the church whoa re expecting guests to our services and prgrams. This session will help you give carefulthought to making a good first impression with your newcpmers ... before they arrive.
SESSION 5 - 30 MINUTES
Purpose is foundational. A system for welcoming and following up guest is key. But many churches just need more newcomers walking in the front door. In this session we will consider how to identify the most receptive "people groups", and how to invite them in a way that will result in the highest response rate
SESSION 6 - 60 MINUTES
It requires more than understanding your church's purposes to be able to achieve. We must drill down to the deeper level of the processes in order to make the purposes thruly attainable. In this seesion we will explore the often unnoticedprocesses that define your ability to be a truly Engaging Church. We will explore and learn to build the kinds of healthy ministry processes that fuel long-term church health and growth.
